Registration for Parks & Recreation’s Start Smart Baseball and Softball opens Monday, February 27, at noon. Register online at bit.ly/registerCBJparks under "Youth and Teen."
The Start Smart program is for 3-4 year olds (participants must be 3 by the first session). Sessions are held 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. every Saturday, March 18 – April 22, at the Dimond Park Field House. Children work with an adult in their lives in a supportive environment to learn the basic skills of baseball: throwing catching, hitting, and agility. Adults are active participants in the program.
There are 30 spots available. The program costs $40 plus tax, which includes a Start Smart tee shirt. Registration is first come, first served. All registrations received after the session is full will be placed on a waitlist.
Scholarships are available. Email amanda.lovejoy@juneau.gov for more information.
