Ever wondered what it looks behind the scenes of a local election? Find out for yourself and sign up for a tour of the brand-new CBJ Ballot Processing Center on Monday, September 12.
For the last two years, CBJ has partnered with the Municipality of Anchorage to process municipal election ballots. With the opening of the Thane Ballot Processing Center, CBJ will now be able to process all ballots in Juneau, improving the speed and security of local elections.
To celebrate the launch and give Juneau a look behind the scenes before this year's election begins, the BPC will be open to the public for guided tours on Monday, September 12 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Tours will begin at every half-hour and last approximately 30 minutes.
Please note that due to space limitations and security protocols only 10 individuals (not including election workers) are allowed in the inside secure area of the BPC at a time. Tour spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
To sign up for a tour, please contact the CBJ Municipal Clerk's Office at (907) 586-5278, option 4.
