2021 has 5% of Juneau City and Borough residents unemployed

Juneau City and Borough recorded an unemployment rate of 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 872 people out of the 32,240 living in Juneau City and Borough at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Juneau City and Borough has increased compared to the 4.3% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Juneau City and Borough was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 16,684 people who had a job during that time, 334 were employed in the Armed Forces and 16,350 belonged to the civilian labor force.
