Bartlett Regional Hospital announced on July 11 the agreement to acquire Wildflower Court is completed and Wildflower Court is now part of the Bartlett health system. The news follows a joint announcement in December that the organizations intended to merge.

“Our organizations are coming together with one vision for the future of post-acute care in our region,” said David Keith, Bartlett’s Chief Executive Officer. “With Wildflower Court now fully part of Bartlett, we are a stronger and more unified health system that will strengthen Bartlett’s ability to provide seamless care to our patients and residents, their families, and communities.”

Coming together allows the combined organization to address a growing need and critical gap in service in the region. Development of a comprehensive post-acute care service line that includes home health, hospice, and long-term care will help reduce rehospitalization rates, enhance care coordination, and improve patient throughput and outcomes. The merger will expand the scope and quality of services for patients and residents in a sustainable manner by integrating common operational functions and ensuring operational efficiency and affordability, resulting in a reinvestment of resources into the combined organization.

“Wildflower Court has proudly served the Juneau community since 1977, first as St. Ann’s Care Center downtown and now as Wildflower Court at its current location next to the hospital since 2001,” said Chris Urata, Wildflower Court’s Board President. “Our co-location and shared community values make this merger a perfect fit – I am excited for the next phase of the organization and am confident we will better serve the region together.”

While the organizations have joined, patients and residents can expect the same compassionate care from the caregivers they know and trust. Bartlett’s current board of directors and senior leadership team will continue in their roles for the combined organization.
