CBJ Parks & Recreation, together with Trail Mix, the United States Forest Service, the Alaska Department of Natural Resources and the Alaska Department of Transportation, has finalized a Master Plan for the Montana Creek Recreation Area and will present it to the public on Wednesday, May 31. The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. at the Trail Mix Shop located at 5723 Concrete Way in Lemon Creek.

Partner agencies will join the presentation and be available to answer questions from the public. They will also discuss current progress on the recommendations made in the plan and how the public can engage with each agency on implementation.

Inter-agency work on the Montana Creek Master Plan began in the summer of 2022 with a public survey about use of the area. The work continued with resource data collection, many stakeholder and user group meetings, and general public meetings. The plan was open for three public comment periods before it was finalized in May 2023.

CBJ is grateful for the committed and sustained engagement from the Juneau public to help ensure that all parts of the community can enjoy the Montana Creek Recreation Area for years to come.

The full report is available in PDF form on the Montana Creek Master Plan project page, along with all other plan documents and drafts.
