From March 17, 2023 post.

The City & Borough of Juneau is recruiting nine community members for a new Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC).

The PRAC is appointed by the CBJ Assembly and advises the Assembly and the Parks & Recreation Department on all aspects of recreation in our community, including parks, trails, aquatics, Treadwell Arena, the Jensen-Olson Arboretum, Youth Services, recreational sports, and more. The Committee reviews fee schedules, construction projects, master plans, and regulations that affect public use of parks and recreation facilities.

The PRAC meets the first Tuesday of every month, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. Meetings are held in person at City Hall and simulcast via Zoom. To apply for the new PRAC, visit bit.ly/joinPRAC.

The Assembly seeks applicants who represent diverse cultural, social, political, technical, and economic viewpoints to ensure wide-ranging and active debate. Applications should be submitted by April 10, 2023 for consideration by the Assembly.

For more information, contact Parks & Recreation at (907) 586-5226 or Parks.Rec@juneau.org.
