NEWS RELEASE AS OF March 6, 2023

Public Works Garbage CollectionPublic Announcement

The City and Borough of Wrangell staff are participating in training this week.  

As a result, there will be some changes to garbage services on Thursday March 9th and Friday March 10th.  

Staff will be in training during the morning of Thursday March 9th.  Therefore, dumpsters and cans will be picked during the afternoon on Thursday March 9th.  

If Thursdays are your normal pick up days, please leave your garbage can out through the afternoon to be picked.  

The Transfer Station (dump) will be closed on the morning of the March 9th from 8:30am to 12:30pm.  On Thursday, March 9th the transfer station will be open late from 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Staff will also be in training on Friday, March 10th from 8am-4:30pm.  Therefore, dumpsters will be picked early on March 10th between 6am & 8am.  If this is your normal day for pickup, please your dumpster out early on Thursday, March 10th.  

Smaller cans will be picked late on Friday (March 10th) from 5pm to 7:00pm.  If this is your normal pick up day, please leave your garbage can out late so that it can be picked.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Friday March 10th to accommodate staff participating in training.  The Transfer Station will have normal hours on Saturday March 11th.
