Snowstorm Update
Snowplowing Operations:
Municipal crews have started plowing residential areas. We expect this work to continue into the weekend until all residential streets are cleared. Plowing of downtown streets is ongoing and will likely take until Friday evening to clear municipally-owned roads in the downtown region..
The MOA is working with local contractors to bring on 25-30 trucks each night to haul snow. Our nine sidewalk plows are still out in force throughout town. We hope to have hit all MOA sidewalks at least once by tomorrow evening.
There are many roads throughout Anchorage that are owned and maintained by the Alaska Department of Transportation. Again, please be patient, try to avoid parking on the street, and give our crews a thank you if you see them.
