EDA awards Wrangell over $6 million grant on Sept. 25

The US Economic Development Administration awarded Wrangell a grant worth $6,969,660 to help fund a project in Wrangell City and Borough.

The grant was awarded on Sept. 25. The EDA describes the grant as follows:

"This EDA investment funds the expansion and construction of a water treatment plant in Wrangell, Alaska. The improvements will allow the creation of more employment opportunities in a designated Opportunity Zone. Once completed, the project will attract and retain business enterprises in the region and build economic resiliency throughout the region."
